Election-night update: preliminary results
Official source snapshot: November 3, 2026, 8:07:13 p.m. Pacific. Larry Agran led the reported tally at that update. The count is incomplete and this article does not declare a winner.
| Candidate | Votes | Share of reported candidate votes |
|---|---|---|
| Larry Agran | 30,102 | 70.51% |
| Maksim V. Egorov | 12,587 | 29.49% |
These figures are from the registrar’s election-night dashboard, reached through its official results page. They are an early snapshot, not a certified result or a measure of how much of the final vote has been counted.
Percentages describe reported votes in this contest, not the percentage of all eligible voters or all expected ballots. Additional ballots and verification can change totals and margins. Read the official Orange County results and check later updates.
The campaign reporting below provides pre-election context. Personal voting appearances remain subject to the verification limits stated in that reporting.
IRVINE, California — Mayor Larry Agran and challenger Maksim V. Egorov are the two qualified candidates for Irvine’s mayoral office in the November 3, 2026, election.
The city’s official ballot-order document identifies Agran as mayor and Egorov as a software engineer and businessowner. California58 has not independently verified either candidate’s personal voting time, method or location.
Agran: libraries, parks and mobility
In his city-published candidate statement, Agran proposes expanding the Irvine Public Library System, completing Great Park projects, adding open space and planting more trees. He also advocates solar panels and battery backup at City Hall, expanded Irvine Connect shuttle service and a Department of Health and Wellness.
He presents those proposals alongside continued investment in public safety and balanced budgeting. The statement is a campaign commitment, not a certification that every project has been completed or funded.
Egorov: fiscal oversight and resident input
Egorov’s city-published statement emphasizes budget oversight, long-term fiscal stability, open-space protection, public safety and improved mobility. It connects his software-engineering experience to a practical and transparent approach to city government.
His current campaign website adds opposition to new or increased taxes and calls for a detailed review of spending, including the mayor’s office. It supports mixed-use and transit-oriented development and argues that the Crescent District should offer more than another residential neighborhood.
Those are attributed positions. The campaign’s assertions about financial projections and opponents’ decisions require separate examination before they can be treated as independent findings.
Existing platforms and Election Day appearances
Agran’s online priorities page also contains older campaign-era arguments. This report relies on the city’s 2026 candidate statements for his current election proposals. Neither those statements nor Egorov’s platform establishes a personal voting appearance.
The mayoral comparison complements California58’s existing report on Irvine’s council districts and Measure D. It makes no winner projection or final-result declaration.
